Turtagrø Hotel

Turtagrø Hotel has traditions dating back to the 1880s. This hotel is located 2900 feet above sea level, at the foot of Vest-Jotunheimen. In the historic Swiss villa from 1880, you live in the same building as famous climbing pioneers from the end of the 19th century. The main house from 2002 was designed by architects Jarmund and Vigsnæs, and has been awarded for good architecture. It has modern rooms, a restaurant, lounge and a mountain library. WiFi is free. Every day we serve a breakfast buffet and a 3-course dinner based on seasonal ingredients. The hotel is a gathering place for mountain people. The area is unique for summit ski tours. Our guides can take you safely through the mountains both skiing in winter and climbing in summer. There are also hikes from the hotel, both to 2,000-yard peaks such as Fannaråken, and easy hikes that provide a panoramic view of the mountains in Hurrungane. The Sognefjord is 9.9 mi away.
